A few months back I was inspired to form a group for vintage lovers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  I knew via Instagram there were others in the area like us who enjoyed dressing in a vintage style, shopping at antique stores and drinking Old Fashioned’s (or who even knew what an Old Fashioned was) but I’d never been given the opportunity to meet up with them.  I was inspired by another Instagram friend who hosts vintage get togethers in the Portland area (she’s REALLY taking it up a notch this time – she put together an entire Art Deco Gatsby themed WEEKEND – I’m not there yet. YET!).

Anyhoo, so I put it out on social media and in January we had our first gathering!  We met up in Minneapolis at the Monte Carlo for dinner and cocktails.

Our next meet up came in February when we took to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts on a Thursday evening.  I think some people thought we were a walking art exhibit.  🙂

February also brought a small get together for dinner, cocktails and “How To Marry a Millionaire” on the big screen.  Ahhhhhhh, costume porn at it’s finest!

Lisa, one of the members of the group, had a “I sold my house, once last cocktail party” party in March.

We have more meet ups planned for the coming months.  I think we’re all pretty excited for summer.  We have plans to have tea in April,  attend Retrorama in May at the MN History Center, June brings the 40’s hangar dance and a Gatsby picnic on the lake, and who knows what the rest of the summer will bring.  I personally plan on having a tiki party this summer when my friend Jessica comes to visit from Canada. I’m so happy to have a group of like minded vintage appreciating people to hang out with!

If you’d like to join look us up on Facebook – Minnefabulous Vintage Lovers.  We post happenings in the area and get togethers.  Hopefully you can join us.
