Our 2nd annual Halloween dinner party happened last night – the theme I picked this year was “The Movies” – everyone did an excellent job on their costumes!
Last year I had 9 guests at the party – this year 13. 13 might be the max capacity as we were pretty cozy around the table. 🙂 And once I actually get furniture in my living room all bets are off as to where we’re going to sit.
I picked up some 50-70% off goodies at Michael’s and Joann’s to add to my decor collection. And my mom sent me an adorable little Halloween tree from Pier 1.
Tree for me, dots for Lucas from mom.
Since my theme was “the Movies” – I used Halloween inspired popcorn holders as place settings. We had delicious food that everyone chipped in on. I made a cheese tortellini beef stew served in bread bowls. We dipped the bread in olive oil dipping sauce. We also had chocolate chip pumpkin spice muffins, a witch cupcake cake, dirt dessert, jalapeno dip, chips and guac, veggie platter with dip, cheese/crackers, caramel apple cider and popcorn of course.
Onto the costumes! I went with the heroine of one of my favorite movies ever – Gone With The Wind. My inspiration and my costume:
My friend Deb made the dress and I added the beading. I think we did a pretty good job.

Roxy as Melanie from The Birds. Photo by Julie.
Garrett as David the android from Prometheus (and he dyed his hair 4 times to get it blonde) and Lucci as Lydia from Beetlejuice.
Lynda as Heath Ledger’s Joker from Batman. She pretty much creeped us all out.
Julie as Mildred Pierce – photo by Julie
Dani as one of The League of their Own girls and Darin as The Jerk. Photo by Julie.

And the following are miscellaneous pics from the party taken by Julie. Enjoy!
And lastly a group shot minus the photographer. Thank you everyone for making our parties so much fun!
